If you are struggling to keep up with all of your news sources and you find RSS a pain, try Silobreaker.
This is a new integrated news tool which finds and categorises articles very effectively. They can be viewed by topic or geographically, or drilled down into. If you find a person or subject of interest you can easily find other related articles. You can see the news 'environment' around a person or company visually, using a link map, or you can find recent quotes from individuals in the news. It has a handy scrapbook facility to store searches and views as well as articles.
I found Silobreaker very easy and intuitive to use. It's not cheap at currently $199 for a year, which it claims is a 50% discount, but I guess this about the same as buying a daily paper for most people, and a much more effective way of keeping current. My only gripe is that it is light on technology and science news.
